In 6.7 you were able to setup links to external sources. I don't see it
anywhere in 7.0. Did they take out that functionality?

Sherry,
The attachments feature was taken away from Forecaster 7.0 but the most
common workaround I'm seeing from customers is the using of the Planning
Guidelines feature to link to external document management systems whether it
be a shared network drive, intranet site, etc. To implement this you would
navigate to the Guidelines tab under the Tools | Options menu and provide
your link or links for each tab on the Input Screen (most just use the Multi
Row screen). Once this is in place your users can click on the Planning
Guidelines icon to take them to your storage location. This approach
requires a bit more work if you want to mimic the organization of cost
centers and/or security within the external storage solution.
Perhaps some others out there will respond to this as well.

This functionality was great in 6.7. Do you know if they are planning to
incorporate this into future releases? We've lost a few deals becasue of
this feature. I've suggested the shared directory but it wasn't well
received.
Thanks.

You mentioned it would require more work to mimic the organization of cost
centers with this feature....do you have steps or information that can be
provided to do this?
