Last night I downloaded SP3 from Windows update for my home PC running XP
home. When the install completed I have no network connection and I'm unable
to reintsall the intel drivers. I went to device manager and fount it
completely empty. My next step was to try system restore and I found that
all of my restore points show in the little calander but none were able to
restore. I tried 3 different dates. I next went to Add/Remove programs and
removed SP3. Still no network and still unable to locate the NIC. I tried
System Restore again and it still fails.

I'm of the opinion that my only recorse is to reformat the drive and stall
all over reloading the system. This time I will not download SP3!
